India-Pakistan I Cold Start Doctrine

Taliban advance to Kabul - How long would the evacuation process take?

Kabul is a large urban area that is under governmental control for 20 years, the city now appears calm but there is also an element of fear amongst the people. President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday spoke to the nation for the first time since the Taliban offensive began and he negotiated with the Taliban to surrendered himself after defying dozens of times - which means the Taliban has now formed the interim government.

Furthermore, the US or more foreign forces speed up the evacuation process by seeing the advancement of IEA, they have sent their helicopters to Kabul to extract embassy staff and locals who worked for them.

So, after nearly 20 years of War NATO and the US are leaving Afghanistan behind with unpredictable results. The withdrawal from their side with unconditional political terms has given the Taliban tremendous power and it was somehow predicted as the policymaker failed to bring the best possible accord between the opposition parties.

Although the government has the strength to cope with the Taliban with 350,000 troops or air support for now the settlement could be the right approach to avoid any severe escalation.

According to Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen, "Our forces have not entered Kabul city, and we just issued a statement saying that our forces will not enter Kabul City." He further adds, "We are talking and waiting for a peaceful transfer - a transition of the capital city."

A group of prominent leaders including Rasheed Dostum, Atta Muhammad fled to Uzbekistan, and Amrullah Saleh fled to Tajikistan. Or Hamdullah Mohib NSA of Afghanistan disappeared from the screen...
