In mid-May, both Isreal and Hamas faced a severe clash that lasted for 11 days, leaving thousands of wounded and hundreds of innocent civilians killed. During that clash, Israel has carried out the deadly airstrike against the Palestinian which they referred to as "Guardian of the Wall."
The evidence tells us the new moderation in War which is practically implemented by Israel Defence Forces (IDF). "For the first time, artificial intelligence was a key component and power multiplier in fighting the enemy," an IDF Intelligence Senior officer said.
It was estimated Hamas has launched 4,000 rockets after the Al-Aqsa clash, about 90% of the rockets were intercepted by Iron Dome (Israel Air Defence System). The interception was made by AI which determines the rocket trajectories based on radar information, intercepting those headed for densely populated areas.
Each interceptor missile is estimated to cost more than US$60,000. The rest of the rockets which landed on the Israeli side killed 12 people, which later acknowledged from the IDF officials, "we were not perfect in defense". But they further add: "This is an opportunity for us to train our logarithm using real-time data".
The immense amount of data gathered from human intelligence geographical information were analyzed for precision attacks. Satellite imagery, sensors, and other sources of data, the team was able to obtain 3D geographical information about Gaza and also identify the locations of rocket launchers that Hamas has installed. AI further providing safer routes to ground forces to implement the attack near the front lines.
"Algorithms and 3D modeling help us be precise and accurate," the officer claimed. "We are using everything available that we can collect in real-time." Asked whether the Gaza resident's personal mobile phone information was used, he issued no denials.
